Weyland Industries
Peter Weyland of Weyland Industries embodies one of the most driven and successful men ever depicted on screen. As the CEO of the company which bears his name he has made a fortune from the exploitation of his worlds resources - but for Peter, mere wealth and fame were not adequate; he was consumed by his quest for immortality: Why live as a king when you could reign as a god?
Upon arrival on a distant and ancient world the crew begins to research the disappearance of what are colloquially known as 'the engineers'. What they find is a futuristic biological weapons lab, primarily a dark ooze with the ability to alter the DNA of living creatures. One of the crew David, a cybernetic individual who serves at the pleasure of Mr. Weyland begins conducting live experiments on the crew utilizing the newly discovered 'bio-weapon'. This results in the creation of one of the most devastating creatures to have ever been created: the Xenomorph; A hyper predator with acidic blood on an unending quest to identify and impregnate able bodied hosts for its own reproduction.
Years after the events of Prometheus the company remains a front runner in space exploration, a position it will remain dominant in for centuries. Ever aware of the unholy scourge that it unwittingly helped create, Weyland Industries vigilantly tries to capture and replicate a living xenomorph specimen. While on that quest and in the corporations wake countless planets have been terraformed for the sole purpose of extracting resources for humanities galactic expansion and the corporations profits. Throughout a number of films (Alien,Aliens,Prometheus) we are borne witness to planetary exploitation on a nearly unimaginable scale, only matched in devastation by the lives lost at the hands of the corporations ultimate prize: the Alien.
Centuries after the death of Peter, Weyland Industries continues to pursue both the ability to create and destroy worlds for a purely profit oriented objective. A quest endeavored upon by a man so consumed by his own vanity that he was willing to risk humanity for his chance at becoming an immortal.
